Garza's Home for Stray and Orphaned Kittens

We are a small grassroots group of concerned citizens. Houston has a tremendous problem with homeless animals, and every day we see more and more animals in need.

The community where we see a huge need is the Gulfton area. Hundreds of cats roam the streets and apartment complexes, faced with starvation, diseases and cruelty from humans. Most of the cats we rescue and foster come from this area, and to date we have rescued almost 100 kittens and adult cats there.

We are a small group of foster parents, trying to help with this community. All of the kittens up for adoption are very sweet and will make excellent companions. Some are rescued from feral colonies and socialized, some have been rescued as day-old kittens and bottle fed, and some are stray or abandoned animals, found eating garbage and living in bushes.

Please take a look at the friends we have and let us know if you're interested in meeting them!

At this time we do not have space in our foster homes for additional cats, BUT we would be happy to help you with finding resources or answering any questions you might have. Just send us an email and we'll get back to you right away!

Also, we are currently focusing on community involvement with feral colonies. If you are interested in helping a colony of feral cats, please contact us. We can help with TNR (trap, neuter, return) to get feral colonies under control.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting, you will need to fill out our application and we will conduct a pre-adoption interview. We can email you the application ahead of time and do the interview on the phone. Home visits may also be part of our screening process.

We are interested in the best possible homes for our cats, so we are looking for indoor-only homes that do NOT declaw. We can provide you with literature and discuss with you about the benefits of these compassionate practices. All of our cats have been spayed or neutered and are up to date on all shots and veterinary care.
