Mitchell Village Animal Hospital

We are a small animal hospital located in Morehead City, NC, dedicated to delivering top notch veterinary medical care and customer service to our clients and patients. We never, at any time, intended to be a foster home or adoption center, but over the years, we have taken in dogs and cats that belonged to clients who had either passed away or were in ill health. Some of our animals were brought in to be euthanized by their owners, but were completely fixable, so we offered to take them in, fix them up, and find them a home. Then there were the large number of feral cats that were living out behind our hospital and multiplying at a rapid rate. Suffice it to say, our homeless pets have come from all different walks of life, but they all share the same dream now.....to find loving, forever homes and families.

Additional adoption info

We require that all of our cats be kept strictly indoors, and that all of our dogs go to homes with fenced yards. There is an initial application process where we talk to you about what you are looking for in a pet (personality, size, vocal or not vocal, etc.), we talk to your regular veterinarian, we set up a meet ing with you, your family, and the pet, and we may also come to visit you in your home. If approved, we then have you sign an adoption contract. Our adoption fee is $100 for dogs or cats.
