California Labradors Retrievers and More's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

Due to COVID we have hundreds of more applications than we have available puppies so adoptions can take over 6 weeks. Please be kind.

2. Approve Application

A Volunteer Adoption Coach will reach out to you in 2-3 weeks. Please be patient we working with limited resources

3. Meet the Pet

After meeting your coach you will meet dogs that match with your profile. You may need to go on several Puppy wait lists before meeting pups

4. Sign Adoption Contract

You can pay online. We are a non profit all Volunteer Organization and all funds are used to care for the dogs we rescue, including yours!

5. Take the Pet Home

You found your forever friend. We will assist you with the Adoption Agreement, take your adoption photos, now clip your leash to your new dog!

Please review the Adoption Steps they have been updated during COVID 19. Please be patient as our rescue has been impacted by the requirements of COVID and adoptions are taking much longer. Please allow 2-3 weeks to adopt an adult dog and 3-7 weeks to adopt a puppy.

Let's get started by completing our online adoption application.

If you would like to share more about your living situations feel free to send us photos of your home and yard to doginfo@labsandmore.org. A Volunteer Adoption Coach will be in touch with you in 1-3 weeks post application submission. We are operating on limited resources and increased volume since COVID 19 has impacted our community. Please be patient and we apologize for the delay.
Once your Coach meets with you and you are on a Waiting List it could take several Waiting Lists before you are in line to meet a puppy. Most Adult Dogs do not have a Waiting List. We have far more applications than available puppies. We are working hard to help our families and with patience we will help you find a puppy. Please do not post poor reviews that negatively impact our ability to continue to save the lives of dogs. We are very transparent in the info we share on Adopt a Pet as well as on our Website regarding the time it takes to adopt and we started Waiting Lists to help families get in line for puppies should people ahead of you decide not to adopt, it allows the next person in line to meet the pups. We are doing our Best during this very challenging time. We are all Volunteers. Thank You for your understanding!

About California Labradors Retrievers and More

Labs and More is Southern California’s fastest growing and most active Rescue with over 325 dogs in our care at any given time. Even though we are growing and strong we remind our adopting families that we are a Non Profit - Grassroots - Volunteer run Organization. We adopt to patient, kind and respectful families who understand we are Volunteers. Matching families with appropriate dogs is our priority and we do not operate by first come first adopt. This year our Volunteers will celebrate the rescue of our 10,000th Dog in need of a chance at LIFE! We rescue for need not for breed and search out those who without our help have no chance of getting adopted from shelters. This year alone over 300 dogs in our care will get needed surgery, life-saving treatment, or other major medical care. We take in hundreds of pregnant moms who will be able to deliver their puppies in the safety of a home and loving arms. All our dogs and puppies are spayed or neutered prior to being adopted.

We cannot save them all but we will save all we can with the help of the generous support of people like YOU!
