Pitties in the City is an inner-city Outreach Rescue Program. Our mission is to help the inner-city dogs of Atlanta by education, creating awareness and mentoring.

Pitties in the City's adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped BEFORE they are available for adoption. We have an application that that is REQUIRED to be completed along with a home check and veterinary and personal references for adoption. There is a non refundable adoption fee at the time of adoption once you have met and been approved to adopt. Bully Breeds are extremely affectionate and very people oriented. The dogs we rescue often come from difficult situations but never lost their profound love of people. Because these animals are so social and easily stolen, we only place them with people who will keep them as indoor pets and cherished family members. Anyone looking for an independent pet that can stay alone most of the time and does not require a lot of attention should look into a breed more suitable for their needs. Please make sure a Bully is the right breed for you.

About Pitties in the City

We are focusing on educating owners, helping them with vaccinations, food, treat those in need of medical care and getting these animals spayed/neutered to keep more unwanted dogs/puppies from entering the shelters. Together with the help of The Coalition to Unchain Dogs we plan to help change the way the dogs are treated and create more responsible owners in these areas. We will keep you updated on our missions with details of the animals in need and pictures of what we are trying to correct. If you know of anybody in these areas that are in need of help or of an animal that is in a bad situation please contact us. This program is always in need of donations. Please specify "Pitties in the City" when you donate. The more support we have the more dogs we are able to remove from sad neglectful situations.
PLEASE HELP US HELP THEM!
AN EDUCATED OWNER IS A RESPONSIBLE OWNER!

Through our efforts and those of many volunteers, we hope to reverse the undeserving stereo typing of these breeds and reveal to the world their true, beautiful character.

Our volunteer rescue and rehabilitation efforts are funded through adoption donations and contributions. We receive no public funds. Donations are always needed. All funds go to provide food, medical care, and placement of sheltered dogs in need. We appreciate your support. Every dollar counts. Thank you for your generosity!

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
