WHAT DRIVES US: The Epidemic of Unwanted Pets in the United States Millions of pets are euthanized each year because, quite simply, there are not enough homes for them. This unfortunate situation is referred to as “pet overpopulation” and there are numerous reasons for the problem including economic conditions, uninformed pet owners, and irresponsible and unintended pet breeding.

WHAT WE BELIEVE: Pet overpopulation can and should be addressed without resorting to unnecessary euthanasia of adoptable animals.

Additional adoption info

Our Adoption Process
When you first arrive at our shelter you will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire. This questionnaire helps us to find the right pet for you. Our adoption counselors act as “match makers” and will work with you to find the right match - for both you and the animal based on the information you have given us.

If you meet an animal that both you and the adoption counselor feels is a good match, you will be given an application form to complete. It usually takes 1-2 days to process before completing the adoption :)

Once I submit an application am I guaranteed that animal?

No, we take more than one application per pet and submitting an application does not guarantee that you will be approved for adoption.

Are there fees to adopt and what do I get for my money?

Yes, there are Adoption Fees:

$100 per cat (over the age of 6 months)
$175 per kitten - Please call or email the shelter on info regarding our kitten adoptions. The process is slightly different.
Up to $325 per dog – In the case of dogs, we may sometimes require a training deposit to ensure that your new dog gets the training he/she needs. The training deposit is $100 and is refundable upon proof of completion of a positive reinforcement training class.
Your Cats adoption Fee includes:

spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, FIV/Felv testing, deworming, flea treatment and a free starter bag of Science Diet Pet Food.

Your Dogs adoption Fee includes:

spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm testing, deworming, flea treatment and a free starter bag of Science Diet Pet Food.
