Mission Statement
SOFA commits to ending homelessness, abandonment, abuse and neglect of companion animals in Southeast Alaska through education, advocacy, community services, and improved access to veterinary services.

Our success depends entirely on the support and participation of individuals, businesses, and organizations in the communities we serve. Southeast Alaska Organization for Animals (SOFA) is an animal welfare and rescue organization based in Southeast Alaska, with a mission to serve communities throughout Southeast Alaska by providing animal rescue and adoption services, affordable vaccination and sterilization clinics, and supporting official and unofficial local groups with rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

Our adoption process is documented for your perusal at https://www.aksofa.org/adopt, where you can also browse our listed available pets and put in your application online!

We do require a 2 week (possibly longer) trial run to ensure the pet is fitting in with your family and we can complete the adoption process remotely via a texted link, allowing you to pay online via our partner Shelterluv.
