Areas Second Chance Animal Shelter of Selma Serves

Second Chance Animal Shelter of Selma (SCAS) is a volunteer-based, non-profit open admission shelter that accepts and provides care to only dogs within the City of Selma, CA limits regardless of age, health or behavior.

Second Chance Animal Shelter of Selma's Adoption Process

Adoption Fee is $135

Potential pet adopters must complete an adoption survey before meeting the animals available for adoption outside their kennel or cage. This information provides staff with a better understanding of the pet adopter's past animal history, their expectations for a pet, lifestyle, and the environment in which a new animal would be placed.

Because the decision to adopt a lifelong companion is a big step in one's life, it is recommended that family and household members participate in the selection of a pet.

A yard check may be required and must be approved before the adoption is approved.

About Second Chance Animal Shelter of Selma

We are committed to reducing overpopulation by promoting adoptions, advocating for the welfare of animals by operating spay/neuter and humane education programs, encouraging responsible pet ownership, demonstrating respect for all living things by caring for unwanted pets, and enhancing the lives of volunteers and our community through compassion.
