Poor Paws Rescue North

Why Adopt From Us?
Nearly all our dogs live in foster homes which helps them relax and also helps us get to know them. We can find your perfect match!

Adopting a pet from Poor Paws Rescue makes space for us to save another animal in need.

We are volunteer staffed and non profit so your adoption fee will go towards helping other dogs in need.

Rescue FAQs

Poor Paws Rescue is a non profit animal rescue group based in Central New Jersey, USA.We also serve the Vermont area. We are a group of volunteers who save unwanted pets from high kill shelters and other bad situations, give them love, training and care in foster homes before placing them with new families. Our goal is that no dog we save will ever have to suffer again.

We are an ALL BREED RESCUE - however as we pull dogs often from high kill facilities in the south we usually have a lot of Labrador, Chihuahua and Jack Russell type dogs and puppies available for adoption.

If you can't adopt we are always looking for DONATIONS, FOSTER HOMES and VOLUNTEERS! Please contact Executive Director Cara Chanin Szeles at poorpawsrescue@gmail.com or 352-345-5900 to find out more.

Additional adoption info

We have an adoption process that includes completing an adoption application and checking references. All requirements and fees are listed on application
