Areas Billy the Kidden Rescue Serves

Hampton Roads/Tidewater Area of Virginia, including Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Newport News, Hampton, and any area people are willing to travel from!

We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.

Billy the Kidden Rescue's Adoption Process

We have an adoption application to learn a bit about the home our cats will be going to and the family's motivation for adoption and expectations about pet ownership. We also have an adoption contract, which includes a no declawing and indoor-only clause along with a vet promissory note that ensures you will continue with the medical care and spay/neuter if needed.

We DO NOT do any out of state adoptions except on the NC border on a case-by-case basis.

Our adoption fee for unfixed kittens under 6 months is currently $60 and includes their FRCVP series, worming, mite, parasite, and flea treatment. Our new adopters will be responsible for obtaining their rabies and spay/neuter if not already done. We will provide resources for low cost clinics that offer these services.

Career/barn cats have an adoption fee of $25.

Most cats over 6 months are fully vetted with an adoption fee of $110 ($130 if microchipped), including the spay/neuter and rabies. Cats adopted from Catnip Cat Cafe have an adoption fee of $75 ($100 if microchipped).

Sometimes we require rental checks or home inspections. We always have a Meet n Greet to make sure everyone gets along. We encourage bringing the whole family!

About Billy the Kidden Rescue

Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce feral cat population in Hampton Roads by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens for adoption into loving forever homes. We are a VDACS registered 501c3 nonprofit, founded in 2014 with over 60 foster homes.

Our heart is in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return of ferals), where cats are fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped, and allowed to live out their lives without reproducing. We like to say that the "R" has more than one option to include Return, Relocate, Rehabilitate, Rehome, and more. We are advocates for advancing legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads. Our unique feral kitten socialization program has a 90% success rate in socializing feral-born kittens to become loving, in-home pets.

We are always seeking fosters, volunteers, transporters, and trappers to join our team!

Come Meet Billy the Kidden Rescue's Pets

Our pets are available for Meet and Greets at their various fosters homes or at our kittery at Pups n Stuff in Virginia Beach for fosters who do not show animals in their home. Appointments must be scheduled in advance.

At Pups n Stuff (where we're the Stuff), you can come see some of our ready to go adoptable kittens. It is at 4330 Holland Rd. in Virginia Beach. The store hours are Tu-Sat 12:00 - 8:00pm and Sundays 12:00 - 6:00pm (Closed on Mondays). We do not have kittery volunteers present during all business hours. However if you email us to make an appointment we can be sure a volunteer is there to meet you, so you can go in the kittery and play with the kitties! If you do go during a time when we aren't there you can look at the kitties through the window and pick up some of our information, but will have to come back to actually play with them.

Many of our adoptable adults are located at the Catnip Cat Cafe as well as this site. The Cafe is in Downtown Norfolk at 2200 Colonial Ave, Suite 19 and 20.
