Additional adoption info
Step 1: Find your pet by browsing through our available pets below, or visit the FOAC website at foac.us. We also host adoption days!
Step 2: Next fill out our Adoption Application here. Once we receive your application, FOAC will contact your veterinarian and animal control to verify there are no issues or complaints. The cat or dog you choose will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
Step 3: Once we have reviewed your application and completed our verifications, you will be contacted so we can make arrangements for a meet and greet with the animal of your choice. House check may be required.
FOAC is a small rescue and while we do our best to respond to phone calls in a timely manner it may take longer than expected at times to respond.
Adoption fees are $200 for dogs and $75 for cats. Adoptions fees may vary slightly depending on the animal and the situation. Seniors are eligible for a adoption fee discount.

About Friends of the Animal Community (FOAC)
Friends of the Animal Community is a small organization dedicated to relieving over-crowding at Tuolumne County Animal Control (AC); promoting the health of abused and abandoned animals; reducing unnecessary euthanasia; and ultimately expediting movement of homeless dogs into permanent, loving homes. As its name denotes, FOAC also provides assistance in meeting the needs of pets belonging to people in our community. These needs include re-homing a pet whose owner must relinquish it, or who can no longer care for it, and, in extreme emergencies, we have helped with financial assistance for medical issues or boarding and feeding.
FOAC is always looking for any additional help whether it's one-time or all the time. Visit our website if you are interested in volunteering and click on the volunteer tab.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?
Why should you adopt?
Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.
What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
