We pull animals from Alamance County NC and nearby county shelters.

Spirit Canine Rescue's Adoption Process

We are a small all breed, foster based rescue organization.Adoption fees are $150 - $400 based on age and breed of the dog. Our dogs are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and receive heartworm and flea/tick preventative. To adopt a dog from us, an adoption application needs to be completed and approved, home visit is required and an adoption contract is signed. We do not adopt out of state! We do not adopt to homes with invisible/underground fencing!

Spirit Canine Rescue is small all breed rescue, foster based, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and responsible placement of abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs of all breeds. Our goal is to create a community where healthy animals are not killed in the shelter, and animals are kept safe, healthy and loved in their homes!

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
