Our Purpose:
Compassion in Action of TN is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that aims to take direct action in several ways. About Us:
The establishing members of Compassion in Action of TN (CIA-TN) have more than 40 years of collective experience in animal welfare each with their own unique experience in this field, CIA-TN’s goal is to provide expert animal welfare services throughout our communities and beyond. CIA-TN further addresses animal welfare by generating public awareness and training volunteers, thus increasing community involvement and bettering the welfare of animals. We assist animals in need either through our adoption/foster program or our TNR program. We provide education and public awareness of the animal welfare issues affecting our communities. We work closely with government institutions, law enforcement agencies, animal protection organizations, other animal welfare groups and communities to improve and strengthen relationships between humans and animals.

Compassion in Action of TN seeks to inspire individuals, groups and communities to take on an active role in addressing the welfare of animals all around them. We believe in the fundamental idea: that our responsibility to animals is vital, and all lives have value. We believe that it’s not enough to be compassionate but instead that you must act on that compassion and truly try to make a difference. For us, by making a difference in an animal’s welfare, we are ultimately making a difference in our communities.

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Allentown, PA.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
