Stray Haven serves Tioga County, NY and the Greater Valley, PA. Dog Control Officers from Barton, Berkshire, Newark Valley, Nichols, Owego/Apalachin, Richford, Spencer, Tioga, Waverly and Van Etten bring found stray dogs to Stray Haven.

Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA's Adoption Process

1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

2. Submit Application

3. Approve Application

4. Sign Adoption Contract

5. Pay Fee

6. Take the Pet Home

Stray Haven requires an in-person visit with our adoptable pets and completion of the adoption application. Our standard adoption donation is $160 for adult dogs, $225 for puppies, and $75 for cats. All adoption packages and specials include up-to-date vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchip for dogs.

Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA is a small private non-profit humane society dedicated to ensuring the protection of animals through education and service. Since 1967, Stray Haven has served Tioga County, NY and neighboring communities, providing shelter and care for homeless animals. Today we continue to offer many services with the generous support of the public, including pet adoptions, spay/neuter programs, dog obedience classes, pet therapy, cruelty investigations, humane education, children’s outreach programs and rewarding volunteer opportunities.
