Areas Baja Dogs La Paz, Inc. Serves

Baja Dogs La Paz, Inc. is a foster based rescued group saving dogs in La Paz, BCS, Mexico. We adopt dogs to cities in the US and Canada. We handle the transportation logistics to get these rescued, rehabilitated dogs to their new home.

Our biggest area is the Pacific Northwest but we have also adopted dogs to places as far away as Toronto, Canada.

More information is available on our website at: http://bajadogslapaz.org

Baja Dogs La Paz, Inc.'s Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

2. Interview

This is a telephone interview

3. Home Check

This is done in person with a volunteer visiting you or via Skype, Facetime or other video conferencing method.

4. Pay Fee

5. Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption process is on our website at: http://bajadogslapaz.org/adoption-process/

Once approved, we at Baja Dogs establish transport for your dog and work out delivery which is usually to an airport near your city (unless you are here in La Paz).

When transport is confirmed and all is ready, you can pay your adoption fee which is dependent on the country. If you are in the US or Canada, you adoption fee includes $100 toward transport. If you are in Mexico, transport is not included. Fees are $350 CAD for Canada, $300 USD for USA, or $1500 MXN.

Dogs traveling outside of Mexico are certified and have all appropriate documentation, shots, tests, and exams. In addition to the rescuing and medical rehabilitation of these dogs, we have regular training classes for the dogs to encourage socialization as well as leash and crate training while they are in their foster homes awaiting adoption.

Our adoption team supplies information, and tools, recommended training books. They also perform periodic adoption follow ups and assistance for adoptive families. We want each of our dogs to be set up for success in their new home. Our goal is to provide adopters with a complete package of rescue, care, and adoption support to promote a successful, happy life for you and your new dog.

If you have any other questions, you can contact a member of our Adoption Team at adoptions@bajadogslapaz.org and we’ll get right back to you.

About Baja Dogs La Paz, Inc.

We are an all-volunteer organization in La Paz, BCS, Mexico, and include local community of rescuers (called "rescatistas"). Dogs that are rescued from the streets are fostered in homes where they are treated as members of the family. They are often fostered with other dogs and sometimes cats and children.

Our organization encourages more in the community to rescue and foster by offering a support system of food, medical care, and professional training. As rescuers get involved, they educate their neighbors, family, and friends about the importance of proper animal care, spaying/ neutering, and thus help to break the cycle of abuse and neglect.

We are always in need of volunteers here in Mexico, in the US, and in Canada. Visit our volunteer page for more details about getting involved -- so you can help us make a difference! http://bajadogslapaz.org/volunteer/

Thank you for your support!
