Fort Scott Paws and Claws Animal Shelter's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

Applications can be downloaded at www.fspawsandclaws.org/adoptions. Email completed apps to info@leespawsandclawsshelter.org

2. Approve Application

Once we receive your application we will verify your references and contact you if you are approved.

3. Meet the Pet

Come meet your new Fido or Kitty! If you haven't completed an application yet, you will need to complete it when you visit.

Adoption fees vary according to the animal. We often provide adoption discounts for senior animals or animals which have been at the shelter longer. All animals come with age-appropriate vaccines and are spayed/neutered. Dogs are also microchipped. All adopters must complete an application and provide a vet reference. Phone inquiries may take several days to receive a return call, but emails and FB messages usually receive a same-day reply.

About Fort Scott Paws and Claws Animal Shelter

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit animal shelter operated by the Shirley Yeager Animal Friends Foundation. We offer temporary shelter for animals in need of rehoming. Animals come to our facility through shelter exchanges, local animal control, and surrenders. Intakes are done by appointment only, but adoptions are open and available each day our shelter is open.
