Additional adoption info
Dog adoption fees are $300 for puppies and young adults (dogs under 5 years of age). Senior dog adoption fees are $200 (dogs over 5 years of age). All pets will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, have a current 4DX test (a blood test that checks for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma), will be current on all age appropriate vaccinations including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, & Lyme, dewormed, and started on flea, tick, & heartworm preventative.
Cat and kitten adoption fees are $180. All felines will be spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested (a blood test that checks for feline immunodeficiency virus & feline leukemia), will be current on all age appropriate vaccinations including Rabies & FVRCP/FELV, dewormed, and started on flea & tick preventative.
If you are interested in any of our available animals please contact us for a copy of our adoption agreement and to set up a meet & greet. All possible adopters will be screened through our adoption application and must provide a vet reference.

About Safe And Rescued, Almost Home
We are a small volunteer based rescue located right outside of Lewisburg, WV. We have been doing animal rescue on a private level for several years but the need in our area keeps growing and we felt we needed to expand in order to keep up. We take in stray and unwanted animals from all over the state of WV, get them completely up to date on all medical (including spay/neuter), and find them loving, forever homes.
We are always looking for new volunteers to help with our cause! Whether you are interested in fostering, fundraising, event planning, transporting, adoption counseling, etc. we would be grateful for the help! Please send us an email to get the discussion started!

Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
