Community Cat Coalition of Edmond Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, all
volunteer organization operating in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Our primary focus is to humanely and non-lethally reduce
the numbers of free-roaming community cats in the City of Edmond through a
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. We also raise public awareness by
providing the community with information that addresses the value of community
cats and the importance of spay/neuter.
TNR is the most effective
long-term approach to reducing the feral cat population in the City of Edmond.
TNR involves humanely trapping, spaying/neutering, vaccinating, marking for
identification, and then returning of feral cats to the location from which
they were trapped so that they may live out their lives. TNR respects feral
cats’ right to live, and their niche in the community, without adding to the
homeless cat population. TNR stabilizes the feral cat population and, over
time, reduces it while substantially reducing or eliminating nuisance behaviors.
