My Story

This spitfire is Morgan, a one year-old Border Collie/Pit mix. You will never come across another dog like Morgan! She has a huge personality, and will keep you entertained.

First things first: look at those ears! Her ears are the best! She doesn't even know she has them on the top of her head! When you make it past the ears, you are sure to be deceived by her little body. Morgan weighs in at a surprising 47 lbs, meaning she is solid muscle and cuteness! She's a big strong dog packed into a pocket pittie small body. It's the best of both worlds!

Morgan is extremely smart, very active, and LOVES to play. She loves tug-of-war, keep away, and chasing after a flirt pole lure. She plays very well in groups at doggie daycare and dog parks. She can even go to food truck parks and other social events with people and dogs. Morgan can problem-solve at a shocking rate to achieve her goals--her trainer said she is one of the smartest dogs ever! She responds well to a proactive handler who can continue to reiterate the one-on-one training she has been getting to channel her energy. Because of her active mind, she needs some help redirecting her impulsive excitement before it turns into frustration. Morgan would THRIVE at lure coarse training, and probably agility courses and trick training. She can even do the Cha Cha Cha!

Morgan unfortunately was rescued after months at a high kill shelter, but you wouldn't know it if you met her! She has an enormous heart and is an extremely affectionate cuddle bug. If she isn't playing, she can be found curled up right next to the humans or even sprawled across a lap. Every day is Morgan's best day ever.

Her ideal family would be active and have time to engage her in play and social outings. A home with another playful dog would be ideal. A dog-confident cat would probably be ok, as would older children. Because of her high energy, small children would not be a good fit. She will need a loving and patient home, as she is still young. She also hopes there will be lots of toys to play with.

Morgan is crate, leash, and house trained.

Morgan is spayed, micro-chipped, and current on her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $150.

Morgan will need an experienced adopter who can continue to work with her, understand her boundaries, and continue her training.

If you would like to adopt Morgan and make her a part of your family, please contact ForeverYoursOKC@gmail.com.

Adoption Process

Every dog that is rescued by Forever Yours is checked by a veternarian, vaccinated, spay/neutered, dewormed, heartworm/ehrlichia tested and treated if needed, and microchipped. We also treat any other illnesses or issues that the dog may have on intake.

We require an adoption application (http://www.adoptapet.com/forever-yours-dog-rescue/adoption-application/), a house check, and our adoption fee is $150.00.

If available, you will get an opportunity to talk to your chosen pet's foster family when you meet your potential new family member. This will enable you to ask any questions and learn all about your pet.
