My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for that special pup to fill your life with joy not only for the holidays but all year long? Well look no further you have found her (or them Cardinal is available too)! Pennant arrived in November from South Carolina with her sisters Cardinal, Slider & Tagg. These 4 lovely 3 month old ladies are a super cute mixture of Hound / Beagle / Lab. Proudly displaying her brindle coat Pennant has a personality to mirror her beautiful exterior. Lucky for you this girl is on the prowl for that special place to call home. Maybe it could be yours?

Her foster family raves about how wonderful this little lady is in their home, with their “big” dog that she has become best friends with, with their kids & how much of a cuddle bug she is. Oooh & this girl LOVES to play! Still being a puppy she is very curious of her surroundings & what’s going on. She wants to be with everyone she meets & will shadow you around just to keep you company. Another thing…she is the perfect age to begin to develop that irreplaceable bond every pup should have with their family. Every pup strives for direction & ways to communicate with us. What better way for you both to learn than taking some obedience classes together.

Pennant would pretty much do well in any home. She gets along quite nicely with her furry friends & she thinks kids are so much fun to play with. After all aren’t they? J Fear not…if you don’t have any furry friends for her to play with that’s ok too as long as you give her ample cuddle time. If you are looking for the perfect addition to your family Pennant has so much love to give. She will give you the best gift ever…her loyalty.

Pennant arrived in November from South Carolina. If you are interested in her please stop by the shelter and fill out an adoption application. We do many approvals on applicants prior to dogs arriving. You and your family will always meet the dog you are applying for prior to finalizing the adoption to make sure this dog is the right fit for your family. You will not be able to meet until you have an approved application as our transport dogs spend time in our great foster homes. If you have questions you can call the Manchester Animal Shelter at 603-628-3544. To fill out an application come to 490 Dunbarton Rd in Manchester NH

Note: As with all of our dogs, we strongly recommend obedience classes for new owner and dog to create a life-long bond with the adopted dog based on trust, respect and rewarding training experiences. We are offering dog training classes through FMAS Wagtime Dog Training. You can check out more information at www.fmaswagtime.com. We can help you train practical skills you use every day with positive reinforcement training. Our shelter dogs are strays and we observe and assess their behavior at the shelter which may be somewhat different in a home environment. In addition dogs adopted from the Manchester Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have received their Rabies and distemper vaccinations as well as other necessary medical care such as flea treatment. All dogs are also heartworm tested. Some prudent care such as heartworm medication is not provided at the shelter and should be taken care of at the earliest convenience upon adoption.
