My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Have you heard the story about Emmie Lou? She got off to a rough start in life, but things are certainly looking up now! Emmie was found underneath a house in Mississippi all alone and blind. She was about 5 weeks of age when found. It was obvious that her head was large, she was blind and walleyed. Emmie Lou was born with hydrocephalus, a condition where she had too much fluid on her brain. As she grew, we noticed that she seemed to be navigating very well in new environments. It appeared that she was seeing something! We took her to visit the eye doctor and he confirmed that she had full sight and that she would not have any issues later in life. She had actually outgrown the hydrocephalus! The pressure on her optic nerve had been relieved, the muscles in her eyes have strengthened and she is no longer walleyed. How about that for a happy ending? Well, almost a happy ending. Perhaps you can help give her the happily ever after she deserves. She needs a family of her own.

Emmie Lou is a mixed breed dog, honestly we are guessing at her breed. She is approx. 4 1/2 months old, the longest legs you have ever seen, born with a docked tail and she is about as cute as they come! She is crate trained, housetrained, and doing very well with her basic obedience. She gets along with all of the dogs here and is very loving. It looks like she will be a medium sized dog when grown. If you have any questions about her or would like to set of a meet and greet, please let me know!
