My name is Lily. I am a Jack Russell Terrier mix, so my foster mom calls me a Jane Russell, if you are into old movies you’ll know right who that is and see the resemblance. I’m one smart and sassy lady just like her.
I love to play with my toys, especially tug-o-war, and I also love to sit on my foster mom's lap in the evening. I ride nicely in my crate in the car and I usually sleep through the night. I weigh about 17 pounds and I am easy to keep clean.
I would really love to have a nice fenced yard so I have some place to zoom around. I was born with springs in my legs, and I HAVE to run once a day--just as much as I need food and water. It usually takes me about 30 minutes to satisfy my need to run. At the dog park in which I have been playing, I get along with everyone, but I don’t take any sass from other dogs and I’ll tell them what for. I didn't do too well with a couple of cats I met, but I wanted to play and they didn't, so I might get along with a cat who likes to chase and play.
I am house trained as long as you remember to let me outside about 5 times a day, I’ve heard of a dog door and I think I would love that! Because of an aging muscle reflex in my bladder, I take a dog chew twice a day that keeps me from leaking. My doctor says I will need to take those chews for the rest of my life and they are about $18.00.
All people are pretty fantastic but I especially love kids. I do not jump on people and I'm great on a leash. I need a lot of your time and attention and would be a better companion to someone who can be home or who can take me with them. I am very, very affectionate and loyal.
I am a pretty happy dog and adjusted really well to my foster home after only a few days. I don't usually make any noise and I am not a yapper. Oh yeah--I'm also really smart, so you'll have to think about keeping me busy.
I am 7, have been spayed, and I have all my immunizations.
