Ohhhhhh Sassy how we adore you! You are safe now little girl and we will find your perfect person and family we promise!
Sassy was taken to safety by the police from a house of horrors on Long Island. She was in a makeshift wooden crate/cage with lots of other dogs living in squalor. They were all underweight and most likely abused :'( Sassy was so scared when we met her, her tail was between her little legs and she looked at the floor. We were so sad to see this - this poor little girl and what she must have went thru! We then all went into the meet and greet room at the shelter and got down on the floor with her... she then perked up and kissed us all and ran around playing awwwwwwww!!! We knew we had to rescue her so we made a plan and pulled her out the following weekend. She is now in a temp foster with us but we are looking for her forever home where she can play and kiss her forever peeps <3
Sassy is only about 1 year to a year and a half old. She's a DOLL - you would never know someone was so terrible to her. We are glad she forgot because this wonderful girl deserves only the best! She loves all people, loves to play with dogs, loves her ball, loves to hike with us and adores kisses. She is still afraid of new things like when she first gets in the car. It's like she doesn't know what to expect but she's so smart we know she will understand very soon that we are the good guys and there is no longer anything to worry about. Sassy would do great with someone who will take her for lots of walks and play ball with her. Someone who understands she needs a tiny bit of time to understand no one will ever hurt her again. She is housebroken, spayed and up to date with vaccines.
