My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL BIO 03/01/2014: JOSIE is 8 years old and weighs 10 lbs; she is being fostered in Jacksonville, FL.

Hi, Josie here to tell you a little bit about myself: I was surrendered by my owner because she wasn’t able to care for me any longer. My former name was Lois and my brother was Clark ~ you know Lois Lane and Clark Kent from the Superman series? Sadly, Clark went to Rainbow Bridge in December and I miss him a lot. My Foster Mom thought it would be nice for me to have a new name with a new start in life and I like it.

I love other animals and would prefer to be with children (older than 12 years pls) who will only play with me in a non-aggressive way, or another dog who will play with me and keep me company when you are away. My previous family had two young boys that played tug-of-war with me…..as a result of that, I’m kinda “toy aggressive”, and my FM is trying to teach me another not-so-rough way to play. It’s kinda hard for me to learn a new way to play, but I’m trying with her help. My new parents will need to supervise me with my toys and make sure no one ever plays tug-of-war with me since this is what makes me act aggressive with my toys. My fur-brother at my foster home is a golden retriever and we both like to fetch the tennis balls. We will chase it and sometimes I get it and other times he does. The only difference is that I like to tear the nap off the tennis balls after we play. He is mad at me for destroying his new favorite ball, but I am trying to make it up to him.

FM has started me on some new food and I like it. I will even eat it dry without any special sauce! I am crate-trained, but prefer to sleep in bed with FM. I do not like to be left alone for long periods of time and it would be nice to have either one stay-at-home parent, or a doggie companion to keep me company when you are away. I also know some basic commands (sit, down & no), and FM is teaching me some others. I also like to go for walks on a leash. I will go outside to potty as long as you don’t make me wait too long. I roll on my back for belly rubs and will snuggle and cuddle with you and give you plenty of kisses. Will you be my forever family?
