My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Natasha and her brother Boris more than live up to their big fancy names!

Abandoned at four weeks of age outside a building in the dead of winter, they hold no grudges. In fact, for a belly rub and chin scritch, they are pretty willing to forgive just about anything. Except for an empty food dish. They have plenty to say about that!

Natasha is the more bold of two, braver in the face of scary things (like the vacuum or the hair dryer) but not as adventurous as her brother. She will make quick little forays into new area and once she has quickly scoped it out and run for safety, Boris will venture further and longer. Bolstered by each other, they make a perfect team for exploring new situations, people and things.

Despite their many similarities, fascination with people and love of play, they are radically different little kittens. Natasha is the more thoughtful of the two. She is definitely much more interactive with people, wanting your attention and involvement in things she is doing. She is happy to have you chat with her and play games, but she definitely doesn’t want to be man-handled or carted around. She does however, love to sit on your shoulder and check everything out. And she is definitely happiest when her people are around and she is close enough to snuggle and touch if she wants too. She loooooves the little white spot on her back scratched, but has no use for petting on the head and will immediately wander away. Too confining, not enough interaction, boring, boring, boring! Natasha needs interaction of the thoughtful kind—where you take the time to really and truly pay attention to her and interact with her in meaningful ways.

Boris on the other hand simply adores affection. Although both of them purr the moment they lay eyes on you (and they purr LOUD!!!!), Boris is the one that wants to be cuddled and held. If he can manage, what he really wants to do is be held close to your face so he can give kisses—he has an affinity for noses in particular. He is also a big fan of having his belly rubbed, though he also really likes to turn that in to a wrestling session. One in which he is obsessively careful not to use his claws or teeth. He is a gentle soul that will need love, cuddling and affection in his life.

The pair of them are completely trusting, and despite their rocky start, are ready to love just about anybody or anything. They are happy to meet other cats and are respectful and polite. Natasha in particular, simply loves dogs. When meeting one for the first time, she walked right up, sniffed noses and proceeded to rub herself all over the dog’s chin. Boris was a little more cautious, but was more than happy to interact too. So far in life, all their interactions have been positive and happy and they are perfectly willing to believe that the world will bring them no harm. They most definitely need someone that will care for them and love them from start to finish, who will keep their world a safe and happy place. They will repay that tenfold!

Boris and Natasha are best friends and cuddle buddies. They turn to each other in moments of relaxation and of stress. They are most definitely looking for a home together. One in which they will be kept inside. Boris has some issues with his vision (neurological which he may outgrow) that cause his hand/paw co-ordination to be a little off sometimes. He would be easy prey outside and will most definitely need a home where he is loved enough to be kept safely inside and away from everything that would consider him dinner. They both have gastro issues, that may also resolve with age.

They are a couple of pretty spectacular little kittens that are brimming full of love and adventure. They would make a truly delightful addition into the right home. For more information or an adoption application, please contact Katie’s Place Cat Shelter.
