My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Candi: 1 yr old black & tan female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 10", 6 lb. Fully vetted. Rescued from shelter.
Meet Candi, or as she's sometimes called here, Roo due to the way she bark-howls when she wants something. Candi is a very active 17-month-old girl with
tons of energy to spare. She has only two speeds: energetic/fast and asleep. She is highly food motivated, and small training treats help her build confidence
in humans. She also responds very well to verbal cues when doing something good or if being corrected. However, trusting someone new does take time for
her, so Candi will need a very patient adopter to help her come out of her shell. She adores toys, and like so many young Pins, she goes through them very
quickly with the rough way she plays. Candi will benefit from having a confident and friendly dog in the household to help show her the ropes as well as
to teach her that the humans are okay. Once she trusts, which has taken over a month here, she is quite snuggly and affectionate. She loves to sleep under
blankets on the human bed at night and gives lots of kisses. The crate is not her favorite place, but if she is bribed with treats, she will go inside
it once she sees her new person is trustworthy. Candi is house trained on a schedule, and of course due to her tiny size, she does go out more often than
the bigger dogs here.
Please note that Candi will not be adopted to someone with children due to her skittish nature. Women are preferred in her mind, and since she still has
a long way to go in learning no one will hurt her, we recommend that she goes to a calm home with little traffic. A secure fenced yard is required as well
since Candi has been known to slip her collar and is an expert at getting through small spaces if frightened. If Candi sounds like a pup you are willing
to work with, please fill out an adoption application with her name on it. No doubt with much love, time and patience, she will turn into a trusting, outgoing
dog much like her foster mom's own skittish dog turned "Walmart greeter."
