My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our little Zoe that we are guessing is a German Shepherd Husky mix, so I guess we will list her as a Shepsky. At under 40 lbs we believe that she is approx 6-9 months old. She is just a little girl who found herself as a stray until she was brought into the Berger Blanc and thankfully transferred to Auberge Zen where we had the pleasure of taking her into our rescue and foster care. She is just a baby who is quite shy at the beginning but once she knows you are a good person she opens up quickly.

Zoe is very happy in foster care and is adjusting well to family life. Her first night with her foster family she was spinning out of control with happiness when she saw 2 doggie beds next to foster mummy and daddy’s bed. She was so thrilled she did not have to spend another night in a crate she ran around the room in circle with sheer excitement!

Zoe is quiet and not an excessive barker although she is still young so her adoptive family must be sure to puppy proof their home and continue with her training. Zoe needs basic obedience and some general manners to sit, stay and not jump on people. Zoe is dog, cat and people friendly once she gets over her shyness with you; potential adopters who go visit Zoe should brings some good smelling treats as she responds very well to positive reinforcement training – she does not need to be yanked on by her collar or leash to get her attention. Gentle, kind, consistent, positive, calm but firm people is what Zoe needs in her life. Zoe does not like crates or cages, while she will go into a crate begrudgingly and does settle down nicely once she is in the crate; we just would like it that Zoe never have to see the world through bars, all alone ever again.

Zoe travels well in the car so if you have a summer cottage and are looking for a friend to join you on your weekend get aways Zoe would love it if you picked her!
