Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you are looking for a true cuddle-hound...a sweetheart through and through, you owe it to yourself to meet Charlie. This guy is a certifiable love sponge. And, might we point out, could he possibly be any cuter? We think not! Charlie showed up literally on someone's doorstep in late October, 2007. He was found by the homeowners curled up outside their front door, taking a snooze. At first, they thought he must belong to a neighbor, but when Charlie was still there 5 hours later, they took the grateful boy in. Guess Charlie picked the right doorstep to nap on. Exhaustive attempts were made to locate Charlie's former owners, but to no avail. Someone sure lost or gave up a terrific dog. Charlie is COMPLETELY HOUSETRAINED and very well-mannered in his foster home. He is even very gentle with his foster parents' cats. Charlie loves to be indoors with his family. At night, he sleeps on the couch (although he would prefer to sleep in his foster parents' bed.) He also loves to ride in the car, so road trips would be a breeze with this fellow. Charlie is an ideal blend of playful and calm. A daily walk or jog would suit him to a "T". Charlie also loves to play fetch and run around his back yard. When play time is over, he can go into couch potato mode like a pro. In addition to his delightful personality, Charlie is a very smart boy. He already knows the "sit" and "stay" commands. We think he has the capacity to learn a great deal more with a little obedience training. According to our vet's best guess, Charlie was probably born around July of 2006, so he is full-grown at just 42#. Our $175 adoption fee helps offset the cost of the medical care Charlie has received. He is neutered, current on shots, and wormed. As with almost half of the dogs we rescue every year, Charlie came to us with heartworms, but has since been successfully treated. He is on monthly heartworm prevention and is in excellent health. Charlie's foster parents think he is ideally-suited for an adult home, or maybe one with teens and adults - and in a home where he can truly be a member of the family.
