My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BUDDY
Age: 2 Yrs ; Weight: 24 lbs ; Good with dogs: Yes; Good with cats: Unknown; Good with children: Age 10 and older; House trained: Yes; Crate trained: Yes; Adoption Fee: $350.00; Special Needs: Buddy requires an experienced dog owner.
Buddy is a very active and friendly BT boy. He is a gentle guy who loves attention from his people. His favorite things are his rope toy, cuddling and being wrapped up in a blanket. Prior to coming into the care of CCBTR, Buddy had very little social or behavioral training. He thought that it was acceptable to do whatever he wanted to do. Of course this was not the behavior that was going to find him his forever and for always home.
CCBTR felt that Buddy was a boy that just needed the right direction and training for him to become the great dog he was meant to be. Therefore, he spent several weeks in the care of and under the supervision of a professional trainer. He learned that certain behavior was not acceptable. He learned that his pack leader was there to give him directions and that he was expected to follow those directions.
He flourished and he learned. However, in order for Buddy to continue being the calm boy who listens to his pack leader, he needs a strong leader. He cannot be allowed to go back to his old behaviors. He is not the right dog for inexperienced or first time dog owners. He will only thrive in a home where he continues to learn proper behavior and social skills.
Buddy loves being able to run and play in the yard but he is a fence climber. If he is to be left unattended in a yard, the fence must be 5 to 6 feet tall. Any shorter and he will climb over. A privacy fence is also much better for him.
Buddy knows how to use a doggy door and is becoming adjusted to leash walking.
So, if you are:
An experienced pack leader who knows how to teach social skills to a mature
dog and have the patience to work with a dog in this capacity long term, please complete an adoption application and give Buddy the forever and for always home he has been waiting for. He is a loving, sweet boy and he deserves a home where he will be your “best friend”.
