My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Precious and I am exactly that, a very precious, very lovable girl who is super sweet looking for the perfect home. I am female red Min Pin who is only 6yrs old and weigh a whopping 10lbs. I do get along with most dogs but I have never been tested with cats or other animals and do not know what I would do. I am super friendly and love to play and sniff around in the yard and then I will hang with you and watch TV then climb into bed with you. I am pretty much housebroken but I am in a home where someone is home all day to let me out more frequently. I am looking for my perfect home, no small children(Toddlers-6yrs) as I am small and could get hurt and we do not want anyone hurt, we have not been child tested either to see how we are with children. Could my perfect home be with you? Are you looking for your best girl…well here I am!!!
I am Spayed/Vaccinated/Mircochipped/Heartworm Negative/Dental I am also crate trained. For my full story look under “My Story” in my album at https://www.facebook.com/TheFirstStepRescue

My name is Precious and my family had both my brother Zeus and myself since we were lil babies. We lived and played and loved life then 6yrs later our whole lives changed, just like that. Our family brought us to a shelter, they couldn’t keep us anymore they said, we do not know why but they left us behind. We did wait, we hoped that they would come back but they never did. We stayed here for a month, we were very scared at the shelter and were becoming more and more timid esp. around men, we were not doing well at all. The shelter reached out to rescue to save us, we were not adoptable and our only chance was for a rescue to save us.

We were saved. My brother Zeus and I are now in a foster based rescue. We moved into a home till our forever home can be found. We live with our Foster Mom and Dad and 6 tiny lil Chihuahua’s and are doing very well. We really came out of our shells and totally Love both Mom and Dad. We are no longer timid and enjoying life once again. Our former family said that we did well with adults and small children but we do not know if we were raised with children or just met them from time to time. We are friendly, playful, like balls, small toys and being outside, we were only outside on a leash in our former home and walked 3x a day. If someone was gone more than 2hrs we sometime left alone or if longer, crated.. They said we would bark/howl when they left but would eventually go and lay down and get quite. We are supposed to be housebroken unless not enough potty breaks allowed then we would have accidents, we are small and we can’t last as long as those larger breeds. We are scared of thunder, fireworks and the vacuum. We do like car rides and other times we are afraid during car rides. We were allowed on the furniture and slept in our human family’s bed. We are suppose to know sit, down, stay and get in the bed. We are supposed to be Gentle, Obedient, Active, and Playful. My brother Zeus and I have never be separated until we were dropped off at the shelter and we stayed apart for 1 month till we found a rescue where we are now together.

We are getting along great with everyone, I am a little too interested in foster Moms birds so they are keeping an eye on me to make sure I do not go after them and so far no issues. Foster Mom says we are totally in love with foster Dad and climb all over him and wait for him to come home. Zeus is worse; he is in love with foster daddy and gets depressed when daddy goes to work. Me I’m like okay he’ll be back I’ll sit with foster Mom or maybe hang with the other pups. We have been dubbed “The Twins” and hey we are from the same litter we could very well be twins
We are active little dogs.

We my foster Mom said during the crazy storms I would not go potty outside, I wanted nothing to do with it. My other family did say I was afraid of thunder and storms; I may do better if I was on a leash and someone went outside with me. We are let outside into a yard to go potty so I might not want to go alone, I did go on a pee pad inside the house so it appears I am pee pad trained or have followed the others in the home who are also pee pad trained just in case. We do well in our crate but love sleeping in the bed with my brother Zeus and with foster Dad much better. We are allowed on the furniture in our foster home.

*** Please be patient, we are a very small organization and we all sadly have to work and have families just like you. We also know the excitement of finding a pet that could be your furever family member and we receive numerous inquiries
from other families who feel the same way. Our primary goal is matching the perfect family with our pups and do not practice first come, first serve". We are setting up many meet and greets with our pups and the family could be found prior to you even getting to meet them. We will make sure all potential adopters who inquired are updated if the pup has been adopted. We do not want to waste anyone's time and recommend you keep looking while you wait to hear from us and as always Thank You for adopting and not shopping. ***
Adoption applications will be sent via email only, we do not have them posted online anywhere or on a website.
