ADOPTION PENDING!
MADDIE IS BEING LOVINGLY FOSTERED IN A PRIVATE HOME IN DALLAS, TEXAS.
“Maddie” came to NBGR from a shelter where she was brought in as a stray. She was estimated to be about two years old, was reed-thin, and had skin issues from neglect. She also had a C-section scar so we know she has had pups at least once. Thank goodness those days are over for her.
Maddie is very sweet and loving. Spending time in the yard or playing in the house with the other dogs makes her a really happy girl. She also does well with the cats; she wants to play but respects their boundaries.
Her foster mom says Maddie is very skilled at standing perfectly still outside when she is stalking squirrels, but once they run, it is game on. She is all about the chase. Everything is an adventure for this light-hearted girl, she’s never met a DOG, PERSON, LAP, or TOY she didn't like.
Maddie is crate-trained, leash-trained, house-trained, and uses the doggie door in her foster home. Though she weighs 17 lb., she thinks she is a lap dog, and she actually does fit nicely -- well, maybe a couple of those long legs hang off just a tad.
Maddie definitely needs a family with an active lifestyle to help her burn off the tons of energy with which she is blessed. Two-legged or four-legged playmates would suit her just fine. She loves to please, so she should be able to learn anything you take the time to teach her.
Soon after Maddie came into the NBGR program she had hip surgery, but she has recovered very nicely and has not been slowed down at all.
Maddie is ready to meet and charm her forever family and make new friends. We dare you to look at that big goofy grin and try to resist it.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
