My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I heard that you really liked cute little girls....cute little girls just like ME! I am Ebony, a small Wire Haired Terrier mix born around June, 2013.

The Humane Society volunteers truly saved my life. I had been dumped, just like unwanted garbage, on a busy rural highway.....in the middle of winter...in the snow. I had been trying so hard to survive by myself but I was slowly dying. I had no food or water and had become very emaciated. As a result, almost all of my short hair had fallen out. I was so cold, so hungry, so frightened and so hopeless.

Some volunteers saw me ...I was so frightened that I would not come to them. They patiently continued to try to coax me and finally caught me....I was frightened but grateful as I knew that without help, I would either freeze or starve to death. They put me in their car and wrapped me in a warm blanket and talked so sweetly to me.

When I got to the shelter, they gave me medicine, the biggest bowl of wonderful food in the world, fresh water and then.....a warm, warm soft bed where I could sleep so safely, knowing I had nothing to fear. It was heavenly!

They have spoiled me so much! I have gained weight and my hair is growing back, and my skin is healing. Little girl's were not meant to live outside in the cold winter. I love the volunteers, their hugs, kisses, treats and, I really like it when they take me for a walk! At first I was shy and fearful....but not now! They say I am VERY friendly, over any shyness and ready for my new forever family.

I bet you have room in your heart and home for a sweet little girl like me...I know there is room on your lap! I will fit perfectly! They say I will make a a wonderful fur friend for any family ... but I think I kind of like your family the best, already!
