My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Harrier/Hound mix
Age: 1 year
Weight: 30 year
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: No
Good with kids: Older, not tested yet
Energy Level: High

This is Bayley! She was found with her sister Barnum. They were living in the woods in AL. She will be a good cuddler and she loves a good head rub. She give people puppy dog eyes for your attention. She desperately wants human contact. She will engage other dogs to play. She loves to roll in the grass. Bayley will need a HIGH fence because she can jump very HIGH! Most dogs like to explore so keeping her on a leash or in a fenced yard with a high fence is the best way to keep her safe. She is very food motivated so training her to do new tricks should be relatively easy! You can pull tail and ears freely so she would make a great candidate for kids. She has too much energy for Senior Adopter but older kids would work well. Would you like a walking, hiking or jogging buddy? Do you want a fun loving playmate? Bayley is waiting for her forever home. Is it yours?

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kkennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

If any dog shows any signs of disease or ailment, DDR vets the dog until he or she has a clean bill of health to the best of our knowledge. This includes anything from being treated for Heartworm, Broken Leg, Cherry Eye, Torn ACL, Upper Respiratory etc.)

NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 4 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
