Benny's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Benny's Story...
Benny is a very passive and loving 4-5 year old bloodhound/coonhound mix male. He is loyal and just wants to be near you. He's extremely gentle, LOVES the company of kids and adults alike and is the most laid back boy we've ever met. He would love to start his life over with a loving family, as his previous life before getting to New York he was starved and neglected. If you are looking for a great companion who loves the car, going on long walks and devoting every moment to his human, Benny would be the perfect dog for you!

If you'd like to meet this dog, please send an email to sweetestdogrescue@gmail.com and ask that an adoption application be sent to you. Once you've been approved, we'd be delighted to set up the meet and greet!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benny, a Shelter Island Bloodhound/Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound/Coonhound for sale in Shelter Island, or seeking a Bloodhound/Coonhound dog from a breeder in Shelter Island.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelter Island already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelter Island breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound/Coonhound breeders who help with Bloodhound/Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelter Island paves the way for another one to be saved.
