Here is what Archie's foster mom had to say: Archie is a total sweetheart! Anyone who's met him has fallen in love! He looks at you with such love in his eyes and a nice wag of his tail. Speaking of looking - you may have noticed he only has one eye, but he gets around really well with one! He is very dog social, and has gotten along with every dog he's met and even some that are usually reactive he managed to win over ;) He does not usually care for rough housing though, and if a dog is trying to play too physically with him he will politely say "No thank you!" and they continue on. He will stand up for himself if he feels it's needed, but he is very polite about it. He could live with a dog savvy cat, but he will chase the cat he lives with every once in a while when excited (but he's easy to call off).

He doesn't know much by way of traditional obedience (sit stay lie down etc) but he is very well behaved in the house and is learning his basics of obedience. He doesn't have much recall and so he doesn't go off leash on the trails (he stays on a long line), but he loves trails, walks and new smells and adventures! He usually doesn't want to go on a walk longer than an hour as about 30 minutes in he'll put the breaks on and indicates he wants to walk back, and so he does. He walks very well on a gentle leader (front clip harness) and is not much of a puller, except for the odd time there is a smell he's very interested in.

He is very well house trained, and when he needs to go outside he will let you know by sitting by the door and staring at you. He is not resource possessive with people or animals, and he is very quiet. When the door is knocked he may alert with a short bark, but that's it. He is okay when spending time alone, but really prefers to be with his people and is happy doing whatever they're doing. Archie would love a family who would continue to work with him and that was home most of the day, or where he could come with them to work. He would be fine as an only dog or with other calm doggie family members.
