My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NEMO is an 8 year old black spayed female. She came to us with her best pal, Harley. Nemo and Harley are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Nemo and Harley are settling in just fine. They both figured out the doggie door very easily and are housebroken. They keep each other in sight at all times and some close to share kisses often, but are getting along great with the resident dogs as well. Nemo enjoys laying on the hearth, Harley chooses to be at someone feet even if it means being in a pile with all the others. Nemo is very timid and unsure of herself and needs to gain some confidence. She is better when Harley is around and is more timid around males it seems so we will continue working with that. She hid behind furniture at first but is not doing that anymore and has actually managed to lay some sloppy kisses on Raven. She is definitely unsure of new situations and we will be working on some confidence building. Harley on the other hand is a social butterfly, always right in the middle of everything. More on these guys individually as we get to know them better! Nemo weighs 88 pounds but should be closer to 75 pounds. They are approved for kids aged 10 and up.

Update (8/24) Nemo is a laid back old gal who needs a home where she will get some exercise to slim down some more. She was aged at 6 to 8 YOA but we’re inclined to think she’s closer to 6- clear eyes, thick shiny coat and good teeth. She may give a quick rebuke if one of the other dogs gets into her private space, but she is more inclined to kiss them and she has slept with up to two other dogs on a dog bed. She is very gentle with the cats, bathing them whether they need it or not, and very respectful of the horses. She is excellent in the car and on the leash, but she sticks with you with or without the leash. She is housebroken and has no bad habits, no matter how hard the resident dogs try to teach her some. She really wants to please her people and her small deformed ear makes her so adorable it would be hard to get upset with her if she did misbehave.

Update (8/09): Nemo has proclaimed today Super Senior Saturday and invites other sexy seniors to strut their stuff:
1. I only jump to catch bees.
2. I sit on my butt, not my haunches.
3. I only run when it’s mealtime.
4. I pull the felt off old tennis balls (but don’t chew anything else!!)
5. I like to rest with my feet in the air.
6. My plumbing is in excellent condition; I DO NOT need doggy Depends.
7. My right ear is only half the size of my left, which makes it easy to pick me out in a crowd.
8. I kiss everybody who will let me- people, cats, dogs.
9. I only bark about twice a week; I DO NOT whine! EVER!
10. I don’t beg or counter-surf, but if you offer me a potato chip, I am patient and very gentle.
11. I walk well on a leash, but I don’t stray when I’m off the leash.
