My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

02-28-08 Cory is a 4 1/2#, mostly black, with some white. He has had puppy vaccinations, wormed, his DOB is 12-20-07.
He went directly to foster care with Judy V who advised us by phone that he is a very sweet, well adjusted puppy.
We are unsure of his medical issues at this time. He was sent to us via Doc from a breeder that does a very good job with her fur-kids. He has a bit of wobble in his walk, that is the issue we are in investigating.

You must be willing to housebreak this pup. We want adopters with the time & patience to train a puppy. This is a baby and will need the care and patience that all babies require!

No fence! No problem! We prefer dedicated leash walkers.
Out of state adopter? No problem! You must come take delivery of your pup. The foster mom will place him/her in your arms, see the glow of joy on your face.

02-29 Cory had a good night, he eliminated out of his crate, not in it. Good little fur-baby! He is eating rice, will stay on a low protein diet until he can see the vet this AM for a 2nd opinion, testing if the vet is able to work him in.
We need a confirmed diagnosis on this pup before we consider letting him leave rescue. Thus, he has been scheduled for testing, results won't be back until middle of week.
He is happy, healthy, eating & drinking, playful. He has a bit of a wobble, otherwise would not notice he has a problem.

03-01-Cory is staying with the vet for a few hours. He had a fasting blood test, then was fed a high protein meal, will have another blood draw within 3 hrs. His little veins are so small, made drawing a challenge.

03-04 Foster mom is Happy Dancing!
Cory tested negative for a liver shunt.
Doc wants to wait a week or two, run a base line blood test.
Judy V will continue to monitor closely, keep Doc updated.

The adoption fee ranges from $150 to $300.
The fee is based upon veterinary care, age & size of dog.
The higher adoption fee on the younger small dogs helps care for the older dogs that take longer to find fur-ever homes.
Senior citizens and disabled receive a discount.
We also offer a discount to those in uniform keeping us safe.
Land of the free because of the brave.

Our adoption process begins with the e-mail or phone call to us. Please be prepared to furnish your complete name, address, telephone number, your veterinarian contact information & at least two personal references. We will then call you to ask a series of questions.
