My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peanut! He is a 2 year old Chihuahua who is looking to find his forever home!

Peanut is a snuggly, housetrained sweetie who originally came from California! He has luxating patellas (floating kneecaps) that make him "hop" sometimes when he is running, but this did not stop him from being deemed adoptable by the humane society he came from.

He gets along with other dogs, best with dogs his own size, and we would prefer that he go to a home with adults or kids over 12. Peanut warms up to new people after just a little while, and just a bit longer with men.

He is up to date on his Rabies and distemper vaccines. Peanut tested negative for heartworm and is current on heartworm and flea and tick prevention.

Until he gets used to you, keep Peanut on a leash or in a secure fence, as he likes to try to go for a "joy run" until he tires himself out - only about 30 minutes with those tiny legs, but not so safe for him!

Peanut currently lives in foster care in Sauk Prairie, WI, and you can meet him there.

His adoption fee is $250 and he will go to his new home with his medical records.
