My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Calvin. People tell me that I am a friendly, lovable guy. I'm glad they think that way because I sure do love them back! I had a rough life on the streets before I was picked up by 'animal control'. They took me to a place they called a shelter. I made a lot of friends there and finally got some food in my belly. I was very unsure of my surroundings and shy when people visited so, day in and day out, people came to visit but no one chose me to be their friend :(
After about 2 weeks, I heard someone say that I was 'out of time'. What does that mean? I never found out because some ladies came and, for the first time, pointed at me and said they wanted me! Yippee!
I am in a foster home now. I will be honest with you, I am not a huge fan of being cooped up inside. I like to keep busy and watch what people are doing at all times. I am being fostered on a horse farm and I love it! My foster mom puts me in a fence when she has to leave and when she comes home, there I am waiting for her on the outside of the gate. It is a game we play but I get the impression that I find it more entertaining than she does. I never stray too far, like I said, being cooped up just isn't my thing. I'm a free spirit, you might say.

I would love to find a home where I can be a part of a family and maybe supervise your farm for you too. I am a good boy with other dogs, cats and livestock. You just can't put me on a chain. My rescue people say they don't allow that and they want someone to love me for being me, the free spirit.

Rescuer's notes: Calvin would do well with an invisible fence. He loves people, kids and has never had an issue with any other animal. He would love to be inside with you when you are home and mosey around outside with you while you do yard or farm work. He never strays far from his people. We normally prefer for our animals to be house pets only but we must take Calvin's preferences into consideration as well and he is very charming and persuasive. We are looking for a safe, carefree home for him and guarantee that once you meet him, you will fall in love like we have.
