My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Nash and I'm a 3 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix! Everywhere I go, people compliment my gorgeous, unique tan brindle coat. I can't really see it, but I'll take their word for it! I was surrendered by my former owner, along with my sister to a high kill shelter in TN. It was very loud in there and we were scared. The concrete floor was so cold, I hated it there and I overheard someone in my rescue say that I almost died there :(

Since coming to the rescue, I've lived in foster care with another dog and children. I love to play with other dogs, it's so much fun! I really liked my human foster brothers and sisters too, I tried to be careful, but sometimes I got excited and knocked the little ones down. My rescue says that I would do best in a home with older children because I'm a happy guy and sometimes I can't help but jump around :) My fosters taught me perfect house manners, to include house-training and crate-training. All of this was a lot of change for me though and sometimes I had a little anxiety. My rescue helped me by sending me to a month long board and train program at The Calm K9 in Clarksville. I learned lots of cool stuff there, like "place", where I lay on a mat while my people vacuum and do things around the house. I mastered the art of relaxation there and now I'm a calm, chill guy that loves naps and enjoys toys. One of my favorite things to do is go for car rides and I get pretty excited when I think it's my turn to go. I prance with delight! I also love to go for walks and I'm told that I'm a perfect walking companion :) I am eagerly awaiting a special family to spend my days with. I am always up for a new adventure, so I'd be excited to go hiking, camping or anywhere else that they'd like to take me. I want to adopt a human so badly, can you help me?
