My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Jake, and I LOVE to meet new people! I am always told how handsome I am, and then I repay them with puppy kisses for the compliment. I am potty trained and crate trained! I may look tough, but I am a very gentle soul. I am good with all kinds of people and in the house I am the perfect gentleman. Outside I often initially love to race around my fenced in yard but then love to chill out with my people. I even know sit, lay down, stay and come! But I am always willing to learn more with repetition and treats! I just want to please you and I love to make people happy. I am told that I am a good boy for not being rude and begging while other people eat! You won’t catch me barking either, unless it is to warn you someone is at the door.
I do not play with toys too much, and I am very good about not chewing things up. What I really love to do is snuggle up close to you and sit on your lap. I enjoy soft blankets and pillows to sleep on, they keep me warm especially during the winter months. When the weather is nice outside though, I love to run! I have even been on a leash run of over 3 miles without missing a beat ! I do love to play, but I make sure to save it for when I am outside, and not in the house! I also enjoy taking car ride and I promise to be a great co-pilot.

I would love to meet you and give you some of my famous puppy kisses and snuggle up to you. I know I can win you over and find my forever home with my calm temperament and sweet charm. I am a adult neutered male. My DNA test results show that I am a mix of different breeds including . To find out more about me, please fill out a Guardian Application! I can’t wait to meet you!

Important - Please Read!
The Adoption process is designed to help place dogs with homes that are in the best interest of the dogs and their human companions. The adoption process starts with a pre screen review of a Guardian Application. Making decisions about dog placement in adoptive homes is an "art", not a "science", and there will be times when applications will be denied for various reason(s). This is left to the discretion of the MAPS Review Team after reviewing relevant information. MAPS reserves the right to make all decisions regarding placement or final disposition of any rescued dog in its care into a foster or adoptive home. There is no guarantee that any applicant(s) requesting to adopt a dog being fostered through MAPS, or posted on MAP's website, will be granted an adoption.

After a successful prescreen, including background checks, the applicant(s) are notified that they can visit the dogs and a time slot is made for the dog and applicant interaction. After the interaction we encourage several days of reflection before adopting a pet to help assure this will be a lifetime commitment of love and quality care for the dog. Next we conduct a home/neighborhood visit to the Guardian Applicant's home. If the home visit proves successful the new mom and/or dad of the dog will sign an Adoption Agreement and share a lifetime of love!
