My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Drifter is a miracle dog! By all odds, he shouldn't even be alive! He was found by reservation police and brought to the county shelter as a stray. The staff saw an injury by his ear and neck but he wouldn't let them examine him. The next day under anesthesia in the clinic, it was discovered he had an embedded rubber band hair tie around his neck! AND he had spent so much time pawing at it, that he managed get to get it up over one ear...it was there it proceeded to grow deep into his skin over the years. Medical Animals In Need rescued Drifter from the shelter, took him straight to the vet, and got him the medical care he needed to heal his horrific wound. The depth of the slit around his neck and ear seemed to go on forever...you could see tendons and muscle and it went so deep that it sliced into his ear! The most incredible part of Drifter's story is that his injury hasn't phased him AT ALL! He's the sweetest lap dog who loves every person and dog he's met so far! He follows his foster mom around like a shadow, eats up attention from their grand-daughter, loves tummy rubs, and toys! He'll entertain himself for hours playing with his toys, alone or with his foster fur-sisters! He loves going on walks and has perfect leash manners. He knows basic commands, is house-broken and doggie door trained (he has no puppy behaviors like chewing or house-soiling) and loves sleeping in bed with his foster parents! His foster mom says he's the best dog they've fostered in 10 years...a real gem! Drifter is approximately 2 years old, neutered and up to date on vaccines. His $150 adoption fee includes his microchip and county license too! You can read Drifter's full story and watch his rescue video at www.medicalanimalsinneed.com
