My story

This tiny scruffy pup needs a home where he can feel safe and loved!!

This is Alfie, a 1-year-old male Shih Tzu/Pug mix. He has a very full, long, scruffy coat that is tan, black and white. His tail curls over and he has those distinct bug eyes, so we think there is some Pug in him. But we are guessing the mix -- we also see some Pekingese or even Schnauzer, so who knows!! Alfie is a medium/small dog weighing 19 pounds, and this is full-grown. Alfie was pulled from our local animal shelter, where he had been picked up by Animal Control and no one came to claim him. He was just shaking like a leaf in his run the whole time, so we pulled him out.

Alfie is a very friendly, sweet, loving dog. He likes to be with you and receive attention. He is not too high of energy, so should be fine in an apartment with daily walks. Alfie must be on a leash or in a fenced yard when outside. He seems to get along well with other dogs and should be fine with children. We have started on his crate training. Alfie is up to date on his vet care, neutered, heartworm negative and is microchipped. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. What a darling dog! Alfie is just waiting for that right person to come give him his forever home!

Our flat adoption fee is $75. All animals have received tests and vaccinations, and have been spayed/neutered if 5 months or older. Adopters receive copies of vet records. If you're concerned about availability before getting to meet the pet, we recommend submitting an application first.
