My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi There, I’m approximately 2 years old & I’m a purebred Boston Terrier Boy who was abandoned by my owner; I am also completely blind, My owner just dropped me at the municipal kill shelter and drove away never looking back. That was a really scary place for a little guy like me to be, there were lots of dogs barking all the time and no soft bed or people to play with me or walk me… I kept waiting for my human to come back for me but he never did, and the worst part was that every couple days a man with a needle and a white jacket would come and dogs would be put to sleep just cause the shelter was crowded or the dog was an owner surrender or an stray who was there past time limit for owner to bail them out…

Thankfully for me, There was a very caring part time AC officer at the shelter there, and He made sure i wasn’t put to sleep by getting me out of there and into a thing called “dog rescue”… Yea, i never heard of such a thing… BUT I’m alive today because of Boxers N More Rescue, They got me out of shelter, into USDA required mandatory 2 week boarding and for my vet exam, heart worm test (negative thank God) and my shots, and they also got my interstate health certificate and arranged my way to them up north.

So upon arrival in New England I was then picked up by a nice lady and her friend and they brought me to Vermont to a “foster home”… What’s a foster home? I didn’t know but now I figured out it is a place where caring dog loving volunteer families bring in dogs who are in need of a temporary home, vet care and behavior assessment and training, ad love us doggies like family members until they feel we/I am ready and then they find a family or human who is a perfect match for my lifestyle…

Yea so I was once abandoned & now I temporarily get to live with these nice foster folks for a while and we get needed vet care - I had to have both my eyes removed for untreated injuries that were very painful for me, i now am blind but have adjusted very well. I play well with other dogs and cats and i am also house trained, I have learned to walk very nicely on leashes, YES, I love to snuggle with my foster pet parents, their laps are my beds! I also love to cuddle up under the covers and rest my head on their pillow in bed, and I am easy going and love napping in my crate or chewing beef bones when my foster parents have to go out for a while. I think i would do best in a home with no small children, because i can not see If you are serious about adopting me my foster mom will want to talk to you and give you some pointers on how to make my transition smooth and how to care for me so i am safe..
Bumblebee has a wonderful loving personality, Bumblebee would be good as an only pet or a home with a cat, or he would possibly be good with other dogs who are NOT small animal aggressive. Bumbble currently lives in a foster home with a couple other dogs and they are all really happy together.. at first when another foster dog comes to live here they must be properly introduced to me and I stay on a leash with a family member while the new guy is also on a leash with another family member, this is so i am safe until the new guy figures out i am blind and may accidentally walk into him..

When i first arrived in my foster home i had no name, the lady there laughed at how i went around smelling all the flowers and things in the yard and she said i hovered like a little 'bumblebee' , going from plant to plant, that was how i got my name! I’m now called Bumblebee and I love being called my name! When i hear my name i come running! I love everything my foster family does with me, car rides, sitting in my foster mom’s lap, and boy do i love belly rubs and butt scratches! I also like listening to tv, going for walks, snuggles with cat and other small dogs on sofa, playing with stuffed toys and chewing on beef bones...

This nice foster family that has taken me in and tells me every day that someone will be chosen especially for me, to adopt and to love me and care for me forever. Could you be my someone?

I just want a warm lap to sit in that is mine forever. Is your lap available for me?”

My foster’s tell me i am a comedian, i make them laugh a lot, and i’m a very happy little guy.

They tell me it’s best if i go to home with no big dogs in it cause i’m so small and lost both of my eyes because a big dog hurt them.

So I'm a survivor of both a kill shelter and then i have been through two separate eye removal surgeries because in spite of the best vet care, they just couldn't save my vision and I was in constant pain, but that’s okay- i could have been put to sleep if the rescue didn’t have vet remove damaged eyes (my optic nerve was torn out in one and they thought they could save the other that had a minor injury which turned into glaucoma months later, my retina then burst and once again i was in incredible pain- The vet told the rescue that I would never get my site back and I would be in constant pain and need constant medicine if they left the eye in this would have involved drops and ointments and pills for the rest of my life (which my foster family tried for a while but it scared me to have all that stuff {ointments and drops put in my eye several times a day) and I was still in excruciating pain & still be blind So when the vet said they could remove my eye and it would heal and not have any more pain, and because I was a young boy I would use my hearing and sense of smell to fond my way around & play just fine…. And I am doing really good! I am so happy my foster family has given me the love and patience to get me through to where i am now... very well adjusted to being blind and no longer in pain and very happy friendly little guy! (and cute too) lol

These rescue people really have been great to me, BUT I so badly want a family of my own…I am fully house trained and love to cuddle and snort and snore.. I’m crate trained and very well behaved... I love to follow up and cuddle with my foster mom and my foster fur family...rides in the car are great fun for me I have my own little seat that strapped in and I have a blanket in there and I just loved to snore as the car goes down the road.

So like i said, my name is Bumblebee, i’m about 2 years old, i am house trained and very smart and friendly, and i am completely blind, but hey It's what's inside that counts, right?"

If you think you are the ‘right’ match for me please contact the rescue. thanks for wanting to adopt and save a life rather then shop for your newest best friend and family member.
