My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ADOPT ONLY WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA

NEW INTAKE, MORE INFORMATION FORTHCOMING

Jewels came into rescue with her Husky brother and littermate, Elvis II. They were both picked up as strays by animal services and, for reasons unknown to SHRF, were not reclaimed by their owner.

She prefers to be where her humans are and will follow them around the house. Even though she is not permitted to be on the sofa, she enjoys hiding her bones there. Jewels is also very loving and wants attention all the time, especially enjoying tummy rubs. She is very affectionate and expresses such by being an avid face licker.

Jewels is the typical Houdini, looking for opportunities to escape. She is skillful and even knows how to open doors if the handle is a lever. Her foster mom has come home to find her in the garage rather than in the house where she left her. She is, otherwise, well behaved, housebroken, and does not appear to need to be crated as she has not been destructive when left alone.

She gets along with other dogs and is very friendly with people she meets. She travels well in the car and walks well on lead, until she catches sight of birds or small animals. Then, she wants to chase them. Because of this, even though she responds well to correction, she must go to a home without small critters.

She is vocal when she wants to go out or when she wants to play. Also, if she gets hot from her walk or outside time, she will go lie down on the cool tiles in the shower and take a nap right there. She is always willing to carry on a conversation with you if you talk back to her. This girl is a true companion.

Jewels is healthy, spayed, Heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is beautiful and ready to find a place to call home. Once she has found that special place, she may consider not escaping. Is this girl right for you? If so, fill out an adoption application on our web site, www.siberrrescue.com, today.
