Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Louie, who is around a year and half old and weighs 14 lbs. He’s a sweet black and white Shih Tzu, with perhaps a touch of brown in his coat. It’s actually a bit hard to tell his coat colors right now. Rescued from the animal shelter, Louie's coat was completely matted, -- so we had to shave him down and start over. But in no time, he’ll have a beautiful Shiih Tzu coat, and we’re looking for an adoptive family who will never let him be neglected like that again!
Louie likes to play with his toys and seems like a very smart little fellow that knows how to play fetch as you can see in his video! He rides in the car well and enjoys leash-walks. Although it’s unlikely that he received much attention in his former home, he seems to be well-socialized and just wants to please. He also enjoys cuddling with his human. He’s looking for a family who will love him, dote on him, and give him a happy forever home.
Louie is neutered, microchipped, current on his Rabies, DHP/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccines, and is on heartworm and flea prevention. He seems to be house-trained, but his foster mom is keeping a close eye on him in case some fine-tuning is in order.
Louie's adoption fee is $225.00.
When considering adopting a dog, please be aware of the care and grooming needs of long-hair breeds like Louie. They are considered “high-maintenance,” because they require regular brushing, as well as trips to the groomer every 4-6 weeks. If this would not fit in with your budget and lifestyle, a short-hair breed would be a better choice.
Forever Home Canine Rescue offers a 3-week trial period with all our adoptions to be sure that the pet is a good match for his or her new family. The fee is refunded if the adoption does not work out within the trial period. We want to be sure that each of our pets will have the perfect forever home!
