*** ADOPTED ***

MEET OUR LITTLE SPUNKY MONKEY IN NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA!! If you would like more information, please contact Connie Lawrence at conniel@andell.com. If you are interested in adoption please fill out our Adoption Application at www,brusselsgriffonrescue.org

Monkey is a very young Griffon who came to us when her owners found they didn’t have time for her anymore. Thankfully they turned her over to NBGR to find a home better suited for her needs.

After a bath and a grooming session, her sweet little heart shines through even brighter now!

Monkey will be 2 on Valentine’s Day, 2015 and weighs 10 lbs. She is very, VERY affectionate, craving all the love she can get. She will bark at people she doesn’t know, but once she is introduced, she quiets down and will warm up quickly.

When Monkey first came to NBGR, she didn’t have any real training so we had to start from square one. Monkey has learned how to wear a collar and walk on a leash, and is good with other dogs. Monkey is also doing well with crate training. She will sleep in her crate, but like most Griffons, she does prefer the big bed.

Monkey is still learning that potty must be done outside so she will require a home with some patience while she continues to perfect this particular skill. Also, she has a tendency to piddle when she get’s nervous or excited so a calm approach is best. Monkey will sometimes eat too fast, causing her to regurgitate some of her meal. If she can learn to eat more slowly, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Monkey has not been around any cats that we know of so we don’t know how she feels about our feline friends.

We are looking for a home for Monkey with a family that has patience and time to continue helping her to learn. She is very young and has lots of energy so an active couple or a family that loves to go on walks would be a great fit for her. Also Monkey is a bit on the mischievous side and can be a climber so attention must be paid to her especially when she’s outside.

Monkey is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on prevention.

We have gotten Monkey off to a great start and we just know that with time and patience, Monkey will flourish and provide the right home with the most perfect little fur-baby companion that’s full of love, snuggles, kisses and cuddles!

Monkey is currently being fostered near New Orleans, LA.

Keep in mind that we prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to fly in to get the dog and that can only happen if the dog is stable enough to travel in the cabin with the passenger.
