All About Me: I am a 2 year old male chihuahua. I only weigh 5 pounds so I am a very small boy. I was rescued from the Catawba County Animal Shelter. My owner took three of us (two boys and one girl) to the shelter in a ferret cage. Another person saw us in the cage so she took us home with her before our owner went into the shelter. We were so scared in that cage that she returned us the next day to the shelter in the same ferret cage we had arrived in the previous day.

Right now I am very scared and I will need a very patient family that can work with me and show me how to build up my confidence with love. My foster mom is very afraid that I have spent most of my life in that ferret cage. When my foster mom holds me I curl up in a little ball and hide my head under her arm. I like to be petted and enjoy sitting with my foster mom.

All known information about our dogs is listed under notes. We do not know how big a puppy will grow to be in adulthood. Please research the particular breed to see if this pet may be a good choice as a new member of your family.

Your first step in adopting a new family member is to fill out the free online adoption application. The adoption form must be filled out completely with phone numbers and a vet reference before it will be processed. Your application will not be processed without this information.

We sometimes receive many applications on one dog. Our goal is to place the dog in the best home possible based on his/her needs, personality and past history. Please note that adoptions are NOT done on a first come, first serve basis, and filling out an application does not guarantee the adoption of any dog. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for inaccurate or false information. We are looking for the best possible home for this animal. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
