Sumi (Sumiaki) is a 10 yr male Shiba Inu who has only known one family. Sumi and his sister, Fumi, had a family who loved them very much but the house they lived in for 17 years was taken away from them. Both dogs were very sad their first night away from the only family they ever knew; Sumi cried all night long. Fortunately, Sumi’s foster mom is comforting him and introducing him gently to his new life. Sumi has learned to walk on a harness rather than a choke chain, and likes exploring a yard off leash. Sumi is settling in and he acts much younger than his age—he is so playful and a silly talker.
Sumi is excellent with all dogs and cats, and LOVES children and greets them with kisses!
He is very overweight and may need some dental work (to be taken care of by the rescue). He will need a long overdue vet visit, complete with a full senior panel, blood work, IOP testing, thyroid, 4D snap test, and vaccinations when healthy. Sumi has been slimming down, due to a more regular exercise regimen and lots of playtime! He loves playing with another puppy in his foster home, and he is a sweet and gentle senior.
