My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mariah! Mariah is a beautiful 1 ½ year old purebred Weimaraner. We found her at a very high kill shelter in the LA Area. She came in as a stray and was never claimed by her family. But, it appears as though she was likely used for breeding, and when they tired of breeding, they simply discarded her. Still a puppy herself, she has clearly had a litter already.
She is a very sweet dog who loves to follow her people around the house or the yard. She is very much a Velcro weim! It seems as though she did not have much if any formal training, but she is SMART and she is already learning basic commands and learning how to walk on a leash. She does well in the car, too, although it seems like she hasn’t spent much time in a car, but she is getting used to it! She is also already house trained.
Mariah is being fostered with several other Weims and also a very small dog, and she gets along great with everyone. She is sweet and loving. She is a bit TOO curious about cats, though, so we will not place her in a home with cats. She seems to like children, too, but since she is still a puppy and a bit “mouthy” at times we would prefer to place her in a home without toddlers or very small children. Also, she is still learning to not jump up so she may be too much for a toddler.
Like any Weim, Mariah would prefer a home where someone is home most of the time. She would love a home with another dog or dogs to keep her company when her people are away. Weims are true people dogs and consider themselves family members, and do not do well left home alone for 8 hours. If you are gone long hours and plan on leaving her alone, please do not apply. Weims need people around, even if they have a doggy friend.
Mariah is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. All she needs is you! If you are interested in adopting Mariah, please send an email to WeimLuvvr@aol.com .
