My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 1/21/15 Dolly is an 11 year old 13lb Yorkie mix that is being fostered in the Orlando area

Dolly is doing very well in her foster home. She almost never makes mistakes in the house anymore and never #2. She loves to go for walks and car rides. She gets so excited when I pick up her leash that she hops around like a puppy! She keeps up with her 6 year old foster sister easily. She has lost 5 lbs since she arrived and is feeling much more spry and happy. She does get a glucosamine supplement daily to help with the arthritis in her hips, which is surely helping her stay active and happy.
The perfect home for Dolly would be where someone is home a lot so she could be let outside frequently and maybe a backyard so she can explore. She really doesn't require any play time, but she does love to snuggle on a lap on the couch and cuddle in bed. She will sleep in her bed at night, as well. She would not do well in a home with kids under 12 as she is slightly slight challenged and they move a little too fast for her. In spite of her age, Dolly has a lot of life and love left in her. Please consider this sweet older gal as your new family member.

UPDATED BIO, 12/5/14, Dolly is a sweet and loving 15lb Yorkie mix that is turning 11years old on 12/13/14. Dolly is being fostered in Orlando, FL.

Dolly is fitting in very nicely in her foster home. She has lost about 3 lbs and definitely has more spring in her step. She was kind of sad when she arrived, but has turned into a happy gal that loves to take walks and cuddle on the couch and in bed. Foster Mom was told by the vet that she is slightly sight challenged, but getting to know her better, she is very, very slightly sight challenged. She sure can see her treats!

Dolly gets around fine and loves to be in the yard exploring. She sometimes has a little #1 accident in the house, but tries to hit the potty pad. She always goes potty outside, after turning around in circles! She is so happy and proud when she potties outside and gets praise that she runs around and around like a little puppy!

Dolly is so happy when her Foster Mom comes home that she dances around until FM sits down on the floor to greet her, then she buries her head in her lap. She likes her foster sister just fine and is very friendly to anyone that visits.

Dolly would do best with someone that is home quite a bit and would not be a good fit for a home with children, as they move a little too fast for her. She does not require play time; she just loves to be around her person, knowing that they are there for a scratch or a kiss.

Dolly is very happy and healthy except for a little arthritis in her hips. She would make a wonderful and loving companion.

UPDATED BIO 10/21/2014: Alli is a 7 year old 9 lb little girl who is being fostered in Miami, FL.

Hi guys, Alli here! I want everyone to know that in just two short weeks, I have settled into my foster home and I am a happy girl. FM says I am a little timid around new humans, but I love my foster sister. I listen well and walk perfectly on a leash! I even know a few basic commands like "sit". I am pee pad trained and I go outside as long as I am on a schedule. Did I mention that I LOVE to play fetch? I like to sleep in my humans room at night, but I don't have to be in the bed with them, just as long as I know they're in the same room. I'm go to see the dogtor again soon for an update on my skin, but FM thinks I'm doing better. Stay tuned for more!

INITIAL BIO 10/14/2014: Hi, my name is Alli. I'm a Yorkshire Terrier. I am 7 years old and weigh 9 lbs. I'm currently being fostered in Miami, FL

My previous family was unable to care for me so they took me to the local animal control and asked for help. The shelter called UYR and they stepped right up to take me to my new foster home.

FM took me to the vet where they did all sorts of tests. See, I've got flea allergies. My skin is sensitive and those little buggers have been on me for a long time. The dogtor told me and FM that with steroid treatment, antibiotics and medicated baths I would be back to my beautiful self in no time! I'm missing a lot of hair around my body but the dogtor said that it should grow back. That makes me so happy. I'm a social butterfly and I love to meet new people and go for walks. I want to be out and about and enjoy the good life. Be sure to check back soon for another pup date from me. In the mean time, I'm settling in quite nicely in FM's home. Hugs and Kisses, Alli
